Miriel Iphanos
Story
The only child to a family of nobles within Aqua Regina's court, Miriel experienced a decadent but emotionally devoid childhood. Often left completely unsupervised when she wasn't attending her multitudinous lessons, young Miriel strayed far into the open ocean in her free time. At age 10 she discovered she could scarcely 'hear' the thoughts of the masses of schooling fish circling her homeland. After onset, her natural, innate druidic abilities developed rapidly as she mastered the art of communing with sea creatures. She eventually became able to mimic their shape, changing her form to resemble theirs. Consequently Miriel is capable of shapeshifting into and communicating with any water-dwelling creature, including those living in fresh water.

As an adult she was less obedient and less meek, much to her parents dismay. She garnered a reputation for truancy and frequent intoxication (at which times she would indiscriminately seduce both men and women before growing bored of them mere days later). Nevertheless she was granted the office of ambassador by Aqua Regina personally and charged with the task of meeting with the fire primordian prince to renew the 100-year treaty.

Personality
At first blush, Miriel carries the hallmarks of her noble tutelage - well-spoken, fair-minded and moving with a sense of elegance. In reality, Miriel's true nature is that of a restless hedonist who abdicates her responsibilities in favor of drowning herself in substances, company and lovers. Born into a strata of society expected to rule and to project an ever-infallible, pristine image, she turned to various methods of escapism to cope. At her best, Miriel is an unflappable person with a very 'easy come, easy go' attitude towards life. At her worst she's avoidant, unreliable, lazy and spaced-out. She often forgets important things and loses her belongings.

Appearance
Miriel is a short, petite water primordian female. Thick sheets of water flow from her scalp down past her hips, dissipating at the ends like a waterfall crashing over rocks. Her aquamarine robes are also enchanted to resemble water. Below the hem, it's apparent that she's never wearing footwear. She carries a pink coral-encrusted walkingstaff with her and has a silver ceremonial dagger fastened to a sash around her waist. A fat star sapphire glints within its hilt. A coral crown the same color as her walkingstaff sits upon her head and remains present in all of her shapeshifted forms - it seems to stick to her head with some sort of magic. Perpetually half-lidded eyes and slow movements betray a woman who is rarely present, always just one step removed from the current situation.

Fighting Style
Miriel takes on the shape of various creatures in combat, favoring the form of a saltwater crocodile or large shark. However, her natural abilities only extend to aquatic creatures, so she is somewhat limited on land. When she became capable of shapeshifting into chimeras she would begin to combine the features of various sea life with the forms of the land-dwelling animals she had seen.

Other Trivia

> After a lifetime of living in the weightlessness of the water, Miriel can be quite clumsy on land. She is capable of achieving a restful sleep on a bed but seems to much prefer sleeping in a water-filled tub or a body of water.
> Miriel enjoys dancing (although she's much better at it in the water), socializing and reading fiction. She enjoys fishing for the artifice of the activity but is otherwise very adept at catching fish in her teeth.
> Fully attuned to the oceanic domain, Miriel no longer requires sustenance. She still eats for pleasure and will try almost anything once.
> Her zodiac sign is Cygnus.
