Biography
Note:
This is not game canon - Animal Crossing villagers are blank slates (sharing identical dialog databases/AI with several other characters) and this Static is essentially an original character

Born sometime in the mid-60's, Static grew up as the eldest of eight siblings in a small country town much like Rosaria. He is named for his bolt-shaped marking which he inherited from his father, Spark. Always abrasive and highly confrontational, he had few friends outside of Angus, a phlegmatic bull his own age who lived at the end of his street and played the drum kit. From an early age his great passion was rock music, particularly the electric guitar, which he would often call his "one true love" (especially after a break up with a girl, which would happen often, as Static was something of a serial monogamist). He plays a green Fender Stratocaster.

In his late teens Static made the decision to drop out of high school in favor of moving to the animal metropolis of Farway in pursuit of a musical career. He managed to convince Angus to join him and the duo departed their hometown, attending auditions and advertising their availability while working menial jobs to support themselves. They acquired a second guitarist and keyboard/synth player by chance, a cat named Tom who soon moved into the unoccupied room in Static and Angus' run-down three bedroom flat. Eventually - after cycling through several subpar vocalists who came and went - a hog named Boris responded to a flyer and auditioned. Static was impressed with the boar's vocal prowess and believed it to be the perfect fit for their sound. Their band was formed and named The Menagerie.

The Menagerie quickly became a local sensation, distinguished by Boris' powerful voice rising clear above the heavy music and Static's skillful rapid fingerpicking solos (which he would often structure a song around). The band's original repertoire grew with both Static and Boris writing songs - sometimes independently of one another, sometimes collaboratively. After little more than a year, the band was catapulted into fame after winning the city's battle of the bands and acquiring a label.

Unfortunately, nothing gold can stay. A couple of years later the band's performance and output suffered under the weight of Static's tantrums, Tom's increasing absences and most importantly, Boris' largely unaddressed, mounting substance abuse. All came to an abrupt end with Boris' death, which occurred under suspicious circumstances. Instead of opting to continue with a new vocalist, Static broke down and quit, Tom left suddenly without a word and Angus was left in the lurch, abandoned without direction or support.

In the present day, Static's rockstar history is largely unknown, only remembered fondly by those who were active participants in Farway's rock music scene at the time and true crime fanatics who continue to pour over the unsolved mystery of Boris' death.

Short Story - Night of the Long Grass
Static x A Mysterious Human. Narrated from the human's POV. Warning: very, very explicit

When the famously ill-tempered squirrel stepped out on stage for the closing act of the summer solstice medley concert, confused murmurs spread through the crowd. A brain-splitting burst of interference blared from the speakers when he adjusted the mic. He leaned into it and spoke: "I'm gonna play somethin'. Normally I'd be playing lead behind a vocalist, but... Well, I'm your vocalist today. And I'm not that good of a singer. Deal with it."

And then he sang.
