This is a Stranger Things tie-in novel, apparently written by one of the actual show writers, intended to give additional backstory to fan favorite character Eddie Munson. Quality of writing is "competent fanfiction". Narrated in first-person by Eddie. This normally feels believable as Eddie is a well-read and eloquent person (he references having read LotR), but some lines absolutely do not scan as the thoughts of a male teenager in the mid 80's. Generally enjoyable light read. A-plot is about conducting a heist with his father and B-plot concerns his band and future ambitions. Suffers somewhat from an unnecessary, underdeveloped romance.
